The intervention in this apartment was mainly motivated by the almost sinister quality of light and the view of the back façade to which were facing the kitchen and the dining room. As the kitchen was to remain enclosed, I studied variations of the dining room to channel the light and front view as far as possible to the back. The model showed that breaking the orthogonal compartmentalization also changed the functional and indifferent relationship between spaces. The new dining room, although not in the geometric center of the house, created new relationships with all spaces as an urban square. I decided it was worth doing.
